Ford Edwards is The Holler’s Imagery Lead and the Editor of The Holler Hustle, an online source for marketing, social media, and technology news. He studied Journalism at the University of the Cumberlands and wanted to stay in the region to help local business build their brands.
He got his foot in the door at The Holler by working on smaller graphic design projects and managing social media accounts before transitioning to his role of managing the Holler Hustle.
A lot of the news that Ford has been writing about recently has to do with data privacy. Many consumers are concerned about how their information is being shared and used online. He says that transparency is the best policy when it comes to how marketers are using consumer data. For the ultra-concerned, there are certain browsers that filter out the type of ads that users are shown.
In other news, many social media platforms are expanding and simplifying their ad services for marketers. Apps like Snapchat and Twitter are using Facebook as a model as they build out their ad platforms. This means that marketers will be better able to reach their target audiences by meeting them where they’re at.
